US Foreign Policy after the 2020 Election - Dr Jack Thompson
The 2020 US presidential election has been described as one of the most important in the history of the United States and its outcome may have major implications not only for the US domestically, but also for US foreign policy and global politics. This lecture will address these issues. Dr. Jack Thompson is a Senior Strategic Analyst at the Hague Centre for Security Studies, where he leads a range of projects in the fields of security and defense. His main research interests are US foreign policy, European security, and transatlantic relations. Before joining the HCSS, he was Head of the Global Security Team at the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich and Lecturer at the Clinton Institute, University College Dublin. He is author or co-editor of numerous books, articles, and reports, including Great Power Rising: Theodore Roosevelt and the Politics of US Foreign Policy (Oxford University Press, 2019), which was awarded the Theodore Roosevelt Association 2020 Book Prize.
