Michelle Browne 02022017

Michelle Browne is an artist and curator based in Dublin. Her work encompasses a diverse range of media, including live performance, public interventions, video, sound, sculpture, writing, and collaboration. For this lecture Browne will focus on her participatory and site specific work through which she explores how society is organised and how we exist within its current structures. Her work is frequently made with an existing ‘community’ or with a group temporarily formed around a particular issue or interest. Her work is often developed site specifically and context informs much of her practice. At the heart of Browne’s work is the question of what it means to live together; how society organises itself - socially, politically and spatially - and how these relationships play out in the public arena.
